EDUCATION : WINDOW ON THE WORLD FINAL REPORT
1. International action entitled "Basic and social competences, how to use them?" – GRANADA As part of the first activity, partner institution CELEI from Spain has planned the progrtam of the international meeting in cooperation with partners from Turkey and Poland. As part of this meeting, the International Center of Competence (MCK) was established - the principles of its functioning were defined, the MCK website was presented. As part of the partners´ meeting, educational systems in Spain, Poland and Turkey were presented at the level of primary and post-secondary schools - multimedia presentations and results of diagnoses of young people´s needs in the field of general and social competences (SWOT analysis). As part of the international action, a comprehensive training was organized on the topic "Developing students´ general and social skills as a way to further learning and future employment". The training was attended by generalist teachers from Poland and Turkey (12 people in total, including 6 teachers from Poland and 6 teachers from Turkey). The subject of the training was the development of general and social competences necessary for functioning in the contemporary world. The use of modern methods and coaching tools in the training contributed to the broadening of knowledge in the field of acquiring general and social competences by students, planning various alternative ways of vocational education in relation to junior high and high school students. The participants of the training discussed the problem of students dropping out of school early. Together, they developed an alternative proposal to return to the education of students who ended their education too early. As part of the first activity, teachers exchanged their experience related to the application of new technologies in teaching with particular use of ICT. Additionally, to effectively use the meeting with project partners, teachers from Poland and Turkey, together with partners from Spain, participated in the observations of lessons from the mathematics and natural science block: in the primary school C.E.I.P. Abencerrajes, in the I.E.S Hermeneligil do Lanz School Complex. They participated in the observation of an innovative method of teaching mathematics - ABN. In addition, we participated in a meeting with the city authorities in the Department of Education in Granada where we could supplement our knowledge about the education system in Spain, study opportunities, implementation of European projects in the field of youth exchange and apprenticeships. Organizing a seminar in Science Park completed the picture of young people´s education in Spain. Teachers from Poland and Turkey had the opportunity to see how to organize a lesson from the mathematics and natural sciences in an interesting way. The seminar consisted of two parts: 1. Interactive games for children and youth, 2. Experimental science as one of the ways to motivate children and youth to learn mathematics and natural sciences. We visited the beautiful Granada with its historic palace and castle complex of de La Alhambra, we took a lot of pictures of architecture, landscape architecture, which we used to develop teaching materials in a block of mathematics and natural sciences (scenarios of interesting lessons, multimedia presentations, worksheets for students, articles, etc.). We realized our goals and felt the energy to act again. Creative teacher = creative student. At the end of the stay, it turned out that everything can be science and everything can be presented in an interesting way.
2. International action entitled "Computer-aided competences in mathematics education and natural sciences" – BERLIN As a part of the second activity, the partner institution BERLINK ETN from Germany has planned the program of the international meeting in cooperation with partners from Turkey and Poland. As part of this meeting, the website of the International Center of Competence (MCK) and the didactic materials posted there were presented. As part of the partners´ meeting, educational systems in Germany, Poland and Turkey were presented at the level of primary and post-secondary schools - multimedia presentations and results of diagnoses of young people´s needs in the field of general and social competences (SWOT analysis). As part of the international activity, comprehensive training was organized on the subject of "Innovative technologies in education" in the use of the White Board. The training was attended by generalist teachers from Poland and Turkey (12 people in total, including 6 teachers from Poland and 6 teachers from Turkey). The subject of the training were alternative and innovative teaching methods applied in mathematics and natural sciences aimed at developing logical thinking, inferring and analyzing and acquiring social competences. The training was organized based on the method: exposing, practical and program. Teachers learned the principles and methods of using ICT as a tool for didactic formulas, processing the Learning Object Format format for creating digital stories. They learned the application of "Wikimindmap" - an open source tool used to create mental maps, including new ideas for solving a given problem. They prepared didactic materials for classes in the mathematics and natural science subject block with the use of ICT. As a part of the second activity, teachers exchanged their experiences related to the use of modern teaching methods with particular use of ICT (multimedia table, computers with software, tablets, smartphones, etc.). Additionally, in order to effectively use the meeting with project partners, teachers from Poland and Turkey together with partners from Germany participated in the training entitled "Computer aided education of mathematics and natural sciences". They exchanged experiences in this area and examples of good practices. They participated in the observations of classes from the mathematics and natural sciences block. In addition, teachers from Poland and Turkey participated in the exchange of experience related to education systems in individual countries at the Department of Education in Berlin. Organizing a seminar at the Deutsches Technkmuseum Berlin completed the picture of young people´s education in Germany. Teachers from Poland and Turkey had the opportunity to see how to organize a lesson from the mathematics and natural sciences in an interesting way. The seminar consisted of two parts: 1. Interactive Spectrum exhibit, 2. Experimental science as one of the ways to motivate children and young people to learn mathematics and natural science subjects. We visited the Reichstagsgebeude parliament, the Brandenburg gate, the Pergamum museum, the botanical garden, we took a lot of pictures of architecture, landscape architecture, which we used to develop didactic materials in a block of mathematics and natural sciences (scenarios of interesting lessons, multimedia presentations, worksheets, articles, etc. ). We realized our goals and felt the energy to act again. The acquired skills have enabled the teachers of ZS 7 and Borsa Istanbul Ilkokulu to prepare educational activities based on modern technologies in accordance with the curriculum, and above all, interesting for the student and easy to receive. The teachers jointly developed scenarios of classes in mathematics and natural sciences, they acquired new teaching competences.

3. International action entitled "Promoting education and combating the phenomenon of early school leaving" – SOFIA As a part of the third activity, the partner institution Getway ETN from Bulgaria has planned an international meeting program in cooperation with partners from Turkey and Poland. As part of this meeting, the International Competence Center (MCK) was presented and schools from Poland and Turkey were presented - multimedia presentations and results from diagnosing the needs of young people in the field of general and social competences (SWOT analysis). As part of the international operation, a comprehensive training was organized on the subject: "Techniques and IT tools - new opportunities in the education process". The training was attended by teachers and students from the following schools: School Complex No. 7 (Poland) and Borsa Istanbul Ilkokulu (Turkey), a total of 26 participants, including: 6 teachers (3 from Poland and 3 from Turkey) and 20 students (10 from Poland and 10 from Turkey). The international meeting was attended inter alia by students with low educational results, from poor families and even disadvantaged groups, etc. For many of them this trip was the first trip abroad. The training was organized on the basis of exposing and problem-based methods. Students use educational techniques such as: classic problem method, didactic discussion, problem lecture, didactic games. In addition, they used WebQuest during the exercises. WebQuest teaches effective use of the Internet as a source of information and is designed to motivate young people to use information creatively, not just search, and to support thinking at higher taxonomic levels (analysis, synthesis or evaluation). During the exercises, students developed the ability to analyze, encode, abstract and classify. Additionally, to effectively use the meeting with project partners, teachers and students from Poland and Turkey together with their partners from Bulgaria participated in the "Talent 4" classes organized by institutions in Sofia. They presented using various methods and modern technology: their schools, presented themselves on the forum, put together stories from drawn cards, assembled jigsaw puzzles and logic, practiced reflexes, developed the intellect in interesting games - guess what it is ?. In addition, project participants participated in activities prepared by the beneficiary of Poland regarding the development of social competences. 4. Developing a personal portfolio In the afternoons we visited the monuments of beautiful Sofia: the Museum of Earth and Minerals, the Royal Palace, the Saint Alexander Nevsky’s council in Sofia, Orthodox church "Sweta Nedelja". Organizing visits for students and teachers at Techno Magic Land, and the Muzeiko Museum was a great adventure for students from Poland and Turkey. Alternative learning definitely attracts more students, it gives the opportunity to appear in each individual. The pupils readily familiarized themselves with the old numerical systems, efficiently solved tasks in the Maya System, created stained glass windows and found geometrical figures in them, vegetation they know, etc. Participation in the project "Education - window to the world" was an interesting experience for students and teachers.
